As you may or may not know, Twitter discontinued and removed the official App for Mac, and pulled it from the App store and disabled all existing instances as well. For some strange reason. I loved the Twitter app on Mac, so it was a hard pill to swallow.

Here is one way to create a twitter “App” on your mac, using Chrome as its “driver”.

Open Automator, create a new Application. In the Library, use Run Shell Script as the option. Type the following as the command:

open -na ‘Google Chrome’ — args ‘ — app=https://mobile.twitter.com’

, With the Twitter App for Mac discontinued, here’s a good replacement.

Save it as “Twitter via Chrome.app” and place it in the Dock.

What you get is a resizeable, fully functioing “App” based on the mobile web app version of Twitter:
